The Zoo at the Far Side is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Royal Gorge Field Office in Colorado, about 10 miles from Canon City. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Far Side and The Gallery both within a quarter mile. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Canon City weather station put May highs around 73°F and October highs near 69°F, while July climbs to about 89°F and winter brings regular snow days. Sand Gulch Campground is about 0.4 miles away, and Banks Campground is about a mile off. BLM Trail 5825A is roughly 1.5 miles away, and Fourmile Creek offers canoeing about 6 miles out.
