Whale's Tail is a climbing area in Eldorado Canyon State Park in Colorado, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits within the state park, and the Wind Tower - S Face and Wind Tower - SW Face climbing areas are each about 0.1 mile away. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Boulder show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 66°F, while July averages climb to about 88°F. The Streamside Trail and the West Ridge Climbing Access Trail are both about 0.2 mile away. For an overnight stay, Winiger Ridge campground is about 4.9 miles off, and Sourdough Springs Campground is about 6.7 miles away.
