The Wet Mountains is a rock climbing area in Colorado, about 0.2 miles from McKenzie Junction. It sits within a cluster of climbing spots and creek access, which makes it an easy base for a day spent moving between nearby crags. Early fall tends to be the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the Westcliffe weather station, about 15 miles away, show September highs near 72°F and lows around 37°F, with July and August bringing the most wet days. The station sits below the climbing area, so temperatures up here run cooler. Hardscrabble Pass and North Hardscrabble Creek are each about a mile away, and Titanic is about 1.2 miles off for more climbing. Mingus Ranch, roughly 6.8 miles out, offers camping.
