Renegade Boulder is a climbing area in the South Platte Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, so it works well as a stop in a day of exploring the surrounding boulders and rock. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bailey, CO, run to highs around 75°F in June and 79°F in July, with July and August bringing the most wet days of the year. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures up high run cooler. Boulbous Boulder and Fern Gully are both about 0.1 mile away, and the New Radio Head Rock Climbing trail is just as close. For an overnight stay, Devils Head Campground is about 0.8 mile off.
