The Outback is a climbing area in the South Platte Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Cat Scratch Wall and Alligator Lounge, The both about a mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Cheesman weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, show July highs around 84°F with lows near 53°F, while September cools to highs in the mid-70s. The closest places to pair with a day here include the YMCA Camo Shady Brook campground about 1.6 miles away and the Gill hike at 1.8 miles.
