New Castle Boulders is a bouldering area in Colorado, about 4.4 miles from the town of New Castle. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Holloway Boulder about a mile away and The Distillery just beyond it. The area holds nine bouldering routes, all rated from V1 to V7 on the V scale. The easiest is Big Shearl at V1, and the hardest is Stinkin' Linkage at V7. Black Betty and Stinkin' Lincoln are both V5. The median grade is V4. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Glenwood Springs show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 78°F, while July averages climb to about 89°F. East Elk Creek, a paddling spot, is about 1.7 miles away, and Elk Creek Campground is about 2.8 miles away. Mountain bikers can head to the Crimson Ride, about 2.4 miles off.
