It sits within the state park's boundaries and makes a natural starting point for exploring the park's rock and trails. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the Grant, CO weather station, about 16 miles away, run to highs near 75°F in July with lows around 43°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s.
