Foundation Rock is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in western Colorado, managed by the Grand Junction Field Office. It sits among a tight cluster of other climbing spots, so a single visit can easily take in more than one wall or boulder. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable climbing temperatures. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 74°F and October highs around 66°F. Midsummer is much hotter, with July highs typically in the low 90s, and winter highs stay near 39°F. Fertile Rock, Zevon Boulder and Bunny Meadow Block are each about 0.1 mile away, making it simple to move between areas. For something other than climbing, the Tabeguache Trail is about 0.4 mile off.
