Caboose Boulder is a bouldering spot in western Colorado, about 1.4 miles from the town of Whitewater. It sits within a tight cluster of boulders, so it works well as one stop in a session that moves between neighboring problems rather than as a destination on its own. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Grand Junction show October highs around 67°F and April highs near 65°F, while July averages climb past 90°F and winter highs hover around 40°F. Engine Boulder, Superchief Boulder and the Freight Yard Boulder Area are all about 0.1 mile away, making it easy to link several problems in one outing. For something different, the Mountain Bike Trail near East Creek Trailhead starts about 0.2 mile off, and KOA Holiday, about 5.7 miles away, is the closest campground.
