The Buena Boulder is a climbing area in Colorado on Bureau of Land Management land within the Arkansas River Segment 2 unit. The nearest weather station sits about 5.5 miles away at Buena Vista, at an elevation of roughly 7,950 feet, close to the boulder's own height. Early summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. Typical averages from that nearby station put June highs around 78°F with lows near 43°F, and September at about 74°F by day and 40°F at night, while July and August bring the most wet days of the year. Nathrop Blocks lies just 0.1 mile away, so it is easy to add to the same session. Ruby Mountain Campground, about 0.4 mile off, and Chalk Creek Campground and RV Park, roughly a mile away, are both close places to stay.
