Boulder City is a climbing area in the Conejos Peak Ranger District of the Rio Grande National Forest in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within the Forest Service's network of land units across the state. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. A nearby weather station records typical July highs around 79°F with lows near 46°F, and temperatures at the climbing area run a little cooler than that station's figures because it sits about 1,000 feet lower. Winters are cold, with typical January highs around 34°F and lows near -3°F. Hot Creek Trail lies about 1.3 miles away, and Silver Mountain Trail is about 3.6 miles off. Alamosa Campground, about 4.5 miles away, offers a place to stay. Paddlers can find the Alamosa River roughly 6.8 miles from the climbing area.
