The Bach Block is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Royal Gorge Field Office in Colorado, about 11 miles from Canon City. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and campgrounds, so it works well as a base for a day or longer in the area. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically May and September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Canon City show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 80°F, with July and August peaking near 89°F. That station sits about 1,200 feet lower than the Bach Block, so temperatures up high run cooler. The Dark Side and the Cracked Egg Boulders (Tier Boulders) are both about 0.1 mile away, and Banks Campground Group Site is just as close. The Bank Campground is about 0.2 mile off.
