Army of the Dead is a climbing area in Colorado, about 1.7 miles from the town of Cottonwood. Two climbing areas sit right beside it: Breakfast Cliff and Boulders Above Primo, each about 0.1 mile away, so the whole cluster is easy to reach in one visit. For comfortable conditions, late spring through early fall works best. Typical averages from the nearby Evergreen weather station show June highs around 76°F and September highs around 73°F, with July the warmest month at about 81°F. The Canyon View Loop hike and the Winze mountain biking route are both about 0.5 mile away. For an overnight stay, Mestaa’ėhehe Mountain Fire Lookout is about 5.8 miles off. Cold Springs Campground, roughly 8.3 miles away, also offers a place to camp.
