Humboldt Redwoods State Park

California

About

Humboldt Redwoods State Park is a California state park managed by State Park and Recreation, about 2 miles from the town of Weott. It serves as a base for a cluster of trails and group camps within a few miles of the community. Summer is the driest stretch. July and August average highs near 73°F with only about two wet days a month, compared with roughly 15 or 16 wet days in midwinter. These are typical averages from a weather station at Grizzly Creek, about 13 miles away and well below much of the park, so temperatures at higher ground run cooler. Within about 2 miles are the South Prairie Trail, the Burlington-Weott Trail and the Gould Grove Nature Loop Trail. Groups can stay at Marin Garden Club Grove Group Camp, a little over 2 miles out.
