Shell Beach (Tomales Bay State Park)

Shell Beach is a public beach in Tomales Bay State Park, within the boundaries of Point Reyes National Seashore in California. The nearest town is Inverness, about 2.5 miles away. The beach has restrooms, and there is no fee to visit. Dogs are not allowed. Late spring through early fall is the driest stretch, with typical averages from a nearby weather station showing almost no wet days from June through September and highs around 78 to 82°F. Winter is cooler and wetter, with highs near 58°F and about 12 wet days a month in December and January. Several trails start close by. The Jepson Trail is about 1.2 miles away and the Johnstone Trail about 1.5 miles. The Indian Beach Nature Trail is 1.9 miles off, and the Inverness Ridge Trail is about 3.1 miles away.
