About
Pescadero State Beach (South) is a public ocean beach on the California coast, about 2 miles from the town of Pescadero, within the San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit. It offers restrooms, charges no fee, and does not allow dogs. Late summer into early fall is the most settled time to visit, with typical September highs around 72°F and only about three wet days that month, based on averages from a nearby weather station. Winter months run cooler, in the low 60s, and bring rain on roughly 13 days a month. Two short walks start close by: the Sequoia Audubon Trail is about half a mile away and the North Pond Trail under a mile. Farther inland, the North Butano Truck Trail lies about 4 miles off, and San Gregorio Creek offers canoeing about 6 miles away.
