Typical averages from a nearby weather station show August and September highs around 65°F with only six to nine wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-50s and rain on roughly 17 to 19 days a month. Moonstone Beach, a climbing area, sits just 0.7 miles away, and the Backdunes Trail is about 1.5 miles off. A little farther afield, the Hammond Trail lies roughly 5.5 miles away and the Mad River Bluffs Trail about 6.5 miles away.
