Coleman Beach
About
Coleman Beach is a public ocean beach on the California coast, about 0.8 miles from the community of Carmet. It falls within the Sonoma-Lake Napa Unit. This is a beach for walking the shore rather than getting in the water, because swimming is not allowed. Dogs are also prohibited, so leave pets at home. There is no fee to visit. Late summer and early fall bring the mildest, driest conditions. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show September highs around 66°F with only about four wet days, while winter months see highs in the mid-50s and around 11 wet days. Several trails and climbing spots sit a few miles inland. Pomo Canyon, a climbing area about 4 miles away, sits next to the Pomo Canyon Trail, and the Watershed View Trail is just beyond them. Estero Americano, about 9 miles off, offers canoeing for anyone who wants to get on the water.
