About this program

Come join a ranger for a guided hike from the Waterrock Knob Visitor Center! Whether you follow us out on the Mountains-to-Sea trail to enjoy the different forest types, or whether we’re headed to the top of Waterrock Knob for a top-down view, you’ll be getting your exercise and learning as we go. There are lots of sights, big and small, that we’re excited to share with our visitors!

The hike will be approximately 1.2 to 2 miles out and back, depending on which trail the ranger chooses to feature. All trails at Waterrock make for a strenuous hike on rocky terrain . Expect the trail to be slick, especially if there has been dense fog or rain recently.

You must wear closed-toed shoes appropriate for a trail walk. Please bring water and rain gear in case of a turn in the weather. If there is light rain, the hike will continue if everyone is sufficiently prepared. In the event of thunder or other dangerous conditions, the hike will be canceled.
