About this program

People come to the Blue Ridge for stunning views and refreshing forests, but the region has more to offer than what’s seen on the surface. Ranger-led talks really get into the heart of the mountains, featuring plants and animals found nowhere else in the world, or looking deep into the history of Appalachian people. Anything from geology to historic tools could be on the table—literally! Programs change daily; there’s always something new to explore!

Where to meet
This talk will be outside the visitor center. In high winds or inclement weather, the talk will be canceled and we will set up an informal educational table indoors. The Waterrock Knob Visitor Center is at Milepost 451 of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Good to know
The 20-minute “talk” portion of the program starts at 1:30 PM.
