About MCCOY SHELTER

Catch views of the High Cascades from various places along routes in this snowmobile area. There are two parking lots and the area offers a variety of loops along groomed forest roads that lead to McCoy Shelter. Rest and warm up at the; McCoy snow shelter, where toilets are also available. The McCoy Snowmobile Trail is maintained by the North Santiam Snowmobile Club in cooperation with the Detroit Ranger District. Marked routes follow existing roads and offer a variety of terrain and scenic vistas. Snowmobile trails are marked with orange diamonds. Please follow; Share the Snow; guidelines in shared use areas. In the summer, McCoy Motorized Recreation Area is shared-use road system comprised of approximately 50 miles of roads open to motorized Class I, II, III, and IV users and highway vehicles.
