About Matterhorn Nordic Trailhead

This trail system offers 6.2 miles of Nordic trails groomed by the Telluride Nordic Association for skate and classic skiing; it is also open to walkers and snowshoers. The trail system weaves through dense mixed conifer stands into large, open meadows surrounded by mountains. Many trails are on a gentle, rolling terrain suitable for skiers of all abilities. However, there is some more difficult terrain for those who are more advanced. There is NO FEE, but donations are encouraged and accepted on site to help support the Telluride Nordic Association who grooms the trails. Dogs are allowed on designated dog-friendly trails (marked on kiosk map). This site is open early December-late March (snow and weather dependent). There is a small parking lot that can accommodate up to 15 passenger vehicles.
