One of the premier tailwater fisheries in the American Southwest, the San Juan River below Navajo Dam offers exceptional year-round trout fishing in a designated Quality Waters section. The cold, clear releases from Navajo Dam create ideal conditions for large rainbow and brown trout, with fish averaging 16-20 inches. Midge and small dry fly patterns are most effective in this technical but highly rewarding fishery.
