The area's seven listed routes and boulder problems are concentrated around spots like Pigeon Cave, where both a left and right line offer roped climbing options, and a cluster of bouldering problems including Zombie Piglin, Piglin, Hoglin, and Big Fun. The rock here is primarily volcanic, which means textured holds but also some choss mixed in — inspect before you commit. This is not a destination for big wall ambitions or long multi-pitch days. What it is good for is a half-day session close to the South Bay, especially for boulderers who want something different from the gym without driving to Malibu Creek or Joshua Tree. Crowds are generally light, the coastal air keeps temperatures manageable on warm days, and the setting above the Pacific is genuinely good. If you're new to outdoor climbing, the bouldering here is approachable, but you'll still want someone experienced with you the first time out.
