Did you know that Abraham Lincoln visited and spoke to the public here in downtown New Bedford ? Have you been to a public meeting and been frustrated with the rules of order ? Do you know how those rules connect to New Bedford ? Join our 1850s Ladies for a stroll at dusk and learn about some lesser-known stories that connect New Bedford to the world.

- Where to meet
- Walking Tours begin at the Visitor Center. A ranger or volunteer will meet visitors either inside the Visitor Center or Outside in the Visitor Center Garden before the tour begins. The main entrance is located at the top of the front steps on William Street.
- Good to know
- Walking Tours begin promptly at 4 PM. Please arrive a few minutes early to meet the 1850 ladies before the tour departs. Comfortable walking shoes, water, and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
