About Twin Peaks Trailhead

Parking at trail head is for day use only, no overnight parking.Three miles north of LaPrele Guard Station and Campbell Creek Campground on the Cold Springs Road. Great access for elk and deer hunters. The first ½ mile is through private land, so please stay on the trail. The next mile passes through State Land where day use is allowed but overnight camping is prohibited. The last 1½ miles to the base of Twin Peaks leaves Roaring Fork Creek and gains elevation more rapidly. Views of the Laramie Mountains can be enjoyed from the top of Twin Peaks. There are limited Forest Service campsites along County Road 24, next to La Prele Creek. Because there is mixed private land and public land along the creek and road, make sure you are on public land before camping or hiking off the road. It is managed by the Douglas Ranger District.
