About SOUTH KAWISHIWI RIVER PICNIC AREA
Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939, the South Kawishiwi Pavilion is available for rent. The building and the surrounding grounds, including some of the original furniture make a lovely setting for small weddings, family reunions, and other gatherings. Maximum occupancy of the pavilion is 35 people while more guests may be accommodated on the lawn. Tents and chairs for outside use are not provided. The pavilion has electricity available inside the building and the pavilion is ADA accessible thanks to a partnership with Telephone Pioneers. The site is only open for day use between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm and guests must vacate the building and have completed cleanup by 10:00 pm. the renting party is responsible for all clean-up and garbage removal from the pavilion. Parking for 20 cars is available and reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. To reserve online, find South Kawishiwi River Campground on www.recreation.gov and look for Group Site #33.
