About SNOWSLIDE LAKE

The route to Snowslide Lake begins on the east side of Lick Creek Road. The trail is steep and rocky, with an elevation gain of about 1,200' to the lake. The area around Snowslide Lake is ringed by mature trees, granite walls, and steep slopes, untouched by recent fire activity. There are several dispersed campsites around the lake. Beyond the lake Trail #104 trail splits at the intersection for Maki Lake Trail #135 (beware that trail #135 is difficult to find) and follows the East Fork of Lake Fork Creek to the Lake Fork Campground. It is necessary to ford Lake Fork to access the trail to Snowslide Lake, so this hike is not recommended in early spring due to high water.
