About SNOW PEAK
The Snow Peak WMA is dedicated to wildlife management and is co-managed with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG). It is bounded by Trail 40 and Road 395 in the south, Little North Fork Clearwater River and Spotted Louis Creek in the west, and Road 201 in the north and east. Ownership in the Spotted Louis, Canyon and Buck Creek drainages is in a checkerboard pattern with every other section belonging to the State of Idaho. Elevations range from 2,600 feet along the Little North Fork Clearwater River, to 6,760 feet at Snow Peak Lookout. The area encompasses a scenic and ecologically diverse area that provides recreationists the opportunity to hunt, fish and enjoy nature with a high degree of solitude. Mountain goats are frequently seen in the area.
