About OBERG MOUNTAIN TRAILHEAD

Oberg Mountain Trailhead provides a multitude of year-round recreation opportunities. During the winter, this is a popular trailhead with a variety of cross-country ski and snowshoe opportunities. Visitors must obtain a Great MN Ski Pass to ski on the Cross-Country Trails. There is also a warming house that was once the Ranger Quarters on Sawbill Lake. This historic structure, complete with a wood stove, is available to users looking to enhance the skiing experience. During the snow free season, Oberg Mountain Trailhead is a popular destination for hikers looking to access day hikes on either the Oberg Mountain Loop, or the LeVeaux trail. Both trails provide outstanding opportunities for fall color viewing. A short distance up the Onion River Road, the popular jackpot and High Climber Single Track Mountain Bike trails are accessible. These purpose-built bike trails offer a single track experience unique to the Superior National Forest.
