About Mortimer Gulch Th
The trail begins climbing at 0-10% through a stand of large Douglas fir and lodgepole pine. The trail side-hills traversing an east-facing slope past private holdings below. Mortimer Gulch to its junction with the Blacktail Creek Trail 223. The trail winds through large groves of quaking aspen with shimmering green foliage and white trunks. Mortimer is an excellent place to day hike. It offers many diverse opportunities such as climbing, wildlife observation, and wildflower identification.
