No potable water at this campground/trailhead.Situated above 9,000 feet, Iron Gate Trailhead provides the closest access to panoramic views of the Pecos Wilderness via Hamilton Mesa Trail 249. Uses: hiking, backpacking, horseback riding. Facilities: vaulted toiled, trash bins, andinformation board. Parking for vehicles and trailers.Special Instructions:Forest Road 223 is rough and recommended only for high clearance vehicles. Users are encouraged to recycle and pack out trash.
