About Ice Caves Trailhead

A pleasant 2 mile out and back walk on a barrier free, partially paved, partially gravel path which includes some stair steps, to the viewing area for Big Four Mountain and the "ice caves" which are formed anew each year in the snow piles formed by avalanches. Never enter the "caves" as they are unstable, with large pieces of compacted snow falling without warning. The adjacent boardwalk through a wetland is a great birding spot. Hikers of all ages can enjoy this trail.
