About Guest River Gorge Trailhead
The Guest River Gorge trail is an accessible out-and-back trail that follows the old Norfolk/Southern railroad bed for 5.9 miles. This flat and paved trail has great views of tall cliffs and waterfalls, and goes through an old railroad tunnel. The original railroad was used for hauling coal mined near the gorge. Though the ties were removed, its trestles and tunnel remain. This trail is popular all year round.
