Goodwin Lake Trailhead
About Goodwin Lake Trailhead
This is a remote trailhead located near Curtis Canyon off of the National Elk Refuge Road. It is a fairly high altitude trailhead that lies on the edge of the forest and offers spectacular views of the Tetons. The access road has become extremely washed out in places and four wheel drive, high clearance vehicles are recommended. Road can be very rough in the spring and fall and is subject to seasonal closures. This is the main access to the Goodwin Lake Trail #4016, which is non-motorized and climbs the ridge into the Gros Ventre Wilderness to the lake. No facilities are located on site, although dispersed camping is available nearby. Single kiosk with a map. No cellular service available. Trailhead is large enough for trailer turnaround.
