Frater Lake Trailhead is a Day Use ONLY area. With a wonderful short looping trail system and a Cabin for day use only 1/2 mile from the trailhead. Lots of wildlife can be seen on and around the lake. 10 miles of trail are groomed for cross country skiing during the winter, with multiple loop options. Frater Lake was named after an early trapper in the area while nearby Lake Leo was name for the son of Claude Sanders, and early surveyor. The warming cabin was built by Forest Service employees and a Senior Citizen Supplemental Employment Program (SCSEP) crew. Provides access to: Frater Lake Trail #150/Lake Leo Trail #155 , Little Pend Oreille Off Road Vehicle Trail System
