CRANE MTN OHV TRAIL STAGING AREA

This trail provides access to the Crane Mountain National Recreation Trail #161. An 8.3 mile segment of this trail south of the summit of Crane Mountain, also within the Crane-Bidwell Semi-Primitive Motorized Area. The Crane Mountain Trailhead is located in the South Warner Mountains, 15 minutes southeast of Lakeview, Oregon. The trailhead is at 6,585 feet in elevation. This distinctive high elevation forest features mixed conifers including the threatened white bark pine. Open meadows and wetlands make this a diverse landscape. There are remnants of the old fire lookout at the summit of Crane Mountain. Parking area is adequate for passenger vehicles only. There is no potable water onsite and visitors need to pack plenty of water.
