About Clearwater Crossing Trailhead

This trailhead serves as the primary access to the Great Burn proposed wilderness for hikers, hunters, and Forest Service crews clearing trails from the adjacent guard station. The West Fork Fish Creek Tr. No. 101 crosses the bridge and heads south towards Cedar Peak, while North Fork Fish Creek Tr. No. 103 heads west from the trailhead, connecting to Straight Creek Tr. No. 99 and then turning north. From these primary trails visitors can access the vast Great Burn area on both sides of the state line. The trailhead features several fire rings, hitching rails, public corrals, and a series of signs interpreting the historic Great Burn and more recent fires in the area, as well as vault toilets.
