About CHATTOOGA PA
This picnic area features a stone and timber picnic shelter built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and a curving boardwalk winding through the cool streamside forest past picnic spots and a fishing pier. Hikers can access the East Fork Trail leading into the Ellicott Rock Wilderness from the picnic area. Visitors here can also access the adjacent Walhalla State Fish Hatchery where South Carolina Department of Natural Resources raises brown and rainbow trout to stock local watersheds. Site amenities include picnic tables, small fire pits/grills, and vault toilet facilities.
