Charlton Flats

Site is currently hike-in only due to damage from the Bobcat Fire. Gate is closed at Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2).Sites are shadowed by large Jeffrey pines and incense cedars. Panoramic views along the access road up to Vetter Mountain Lookout. Amenities: 80 picnic sites each with a picnic table and BBQ pedestal grills. Vault toilets. Dumpsters. No piped water available. (Please bring enough water for cooking, cleaning, drinking and extinguishing BBQ grill fires.)Hiking: Access to the Vetter Fire Lookout and the Silver Moccasin National Recreation Trail.
