Muddy Creek Wilderness Area

Muddy Creek Wilderness Area encompasses over 110,000 acres of federally protected backcountry in Utah, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive terrain where motorized travel, mechanized transport, and developed infrastructure have no place—it exists to preserve wild character and solitude. Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to experience the landscape, rewarding visitors willing to travel on foot with untrammeled country and the genuine isolation that true wilderness offers.

Visiting means accepting the reality of backcountry travel: no roads penetrate the area, no motors are permitted, and Leave No Trace principles are not suggestions but the ethical foundation of wilderness use.
