Little Wild Horse Canyon Wilderness Area

Little Wild Horse Canyon Wilderness Area encompasses 6,240 acres of federally protected backcountry in Utah, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive, non-motorized terrain where hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to experience the landscape. The area offers genuine solitude in a remote wilderness setting, away from roads and developed infrastructure.

Visiting means following strict wilderness rules: no motorized travel, no mechanized equipment, and no mountain bikes. All visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles—pack out what you pack in, camp below ridgelines, and minimize impact on the land. Access is on foot only. Plan for a visit during the milder months when conditions are most favorable for backcountry travel, and come prepared for self-sufficiency; this is true wilderness with no services or maintained facilities.
