Drift Creek Wilderness

Drift Creek Wilderness is a 5,792-acre federally protected wilderness area in Oregon managed by the Forest Service. It offers backcountry hiking and backpacking in a primitive, roadless setting where motorized travel and mechanized transport are prohibited. The wilderness provides solitude and a genuine backcountry experience for visitors willing to travel on foot.

As a designated Wilderness Area, Drift Creek operates under strict non-motorized guidelines. All visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles—packing out what you pack in, camping only in designated areas where permitted, and minimizing impact on the landscape. There are no roads, facilities, or maintained infrastructure; this is true backcountry where self-sufficiency and route-finding skills matter. Access requires driving to a trailhead outside the wilderness boundary, then proceeding entirely on foot.
