Cummins Creek Wilderness

Cummins Creek Wilderness is a 9,026-acre federally designated Wilderness Area in Oregon managed by the Forest Service. It offers backcountry hiking and backpacking in a primitive, non-motorized landscape where solitude and self-reliance are central to the experience.

As a designated Wilderness, the area is governed by strict rules: no roads, motors, or mechanized travel of any kind. Visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles and come prepared for true backcountry conditions. Access is foot-traffic only, and you'll need to be comfortable navigating without developed infrastructure or maintained facilities.

Best visiting is during summer and early fall months when weather is most stable and trails are passable. Spring and late fall are possible but wetter and more exposed to sudden conditions. Winter travel is possible but requires winter backcountry skills and should only be attempted by experienced parties.
