Cecil D. Andrus-White Clouds Wilderness

Cecil D. Andrus-White Clouds Wilderness is a federally protected Wilderness Area in Idaho managed by the Forest Service. As a designated wilderness, it preserves primitive backcountry where motors, roads, and mechanized travel are prohibited. Visitors come here to experience solitude and untrammeled landscape on foot or horseback, away from development and modern infrastructure.

Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore the wilderness. The landscape rewards those willing to travel by their own power through non-motorized terrain. Like all federally designated Wilderness Areas, this place operates under strict Leave No Trace principles—pack out what you pack in, camp responsibly, and respect the wilderness character that federal protection is meant to preserve.
