The Willard climbing area hosts a handful of routes that range from technical ridge lines to sport climbs, giving visiting climbers enough variety to make a dedicated half-day or full day worthwhile. The West Ridge of the Ogre is the anchor of the area, with the Ogre Steps being the most referenced approach feature on that line. The Southwest Ridge offers an alternative for those who want a different angle on the same terrain. Sport routes like Win Bigly, Air to Spare, and Ad Astra Per Aspera round out the list and give climbers who prefer clipped bolts over trad gear a reason to show up. The area is not a destination on the scale of American Fork Canyon or Little Cottonwood, but if you are already in the northern Wasatch corridor or staying near Ogden, it is a solid local crag worth knowing. Spring and fall are the most reliable seasons in the northern Wasatch foothills around Willard. Summer mornings work if you start early before the sun hits the rock, but afternoon heat at lower elevations can make climbing uncomfortable. Winter access depends on snowpack and is not guaranteed.
