About Tennessee Pass

Tennessee Pass is a compact, high-altitude Nordic skiing destination nestled at 10,839 feet in central Colorado's Sawatch Range. The area excels as a cross-country skiing hub, featuring 20 groomed Nordic trails spanning 18.6 kilometers across all difficulty levels. Twelve easy trails totaling 11 km make it ideal for beginners and families, while six intermediate and two advanced routes provide technical challenges and scenic high-altitude terrain. The modest 720-foot vertical drop and 10,119-foot base elevation deliver a unique high-country experience with thinner air and expansive views of the Continental Divide. Beyond groomed Nordic trails, Tennessee Pass serves as a gateway to extensive backcountry skiing and snowshoeing opportunities in the surrounding Sawatch and Mosquito Range wilderness areas, making it a premier jumping-off point for backcountry enthusiasts. Summer visitors can enjoy high-altitude hiking, wildflower meadows, and mountain biking on nearby trail systems.
