About Scaly Mountain
Scaly Mountain is a former ski area in North Carolina, now abandoned. The area sits at 3,662 feet of elevation and once operated with a modest 48-foot vertical drop. Today, little remains of the old ski operation, and the site is no longer active for skiing or riding. Visitors interested in the history of regional skiing will find only traces of what was once a small winter destination.
