Montezuma Basin

Montezuma Basin is an abandoned ski area located in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, now primarily known as a backcountry skiing and snowshoeing destination rather than a developed resort. The basin offers direct access to high-altitude terrain with elevations reaching above 12,000 feet, making it a destination for experienced backcountry skiers seeking untracked powder and remote alpine bowls.
