About Indian Mountain
Indian Mountain is an abandoned ski area located in Colorado's high country, now primarily accessible for backcountry exploration and summer recreation. Once a modest regional ski destination, the area retains historical infrastructure and lift lines that serve as landmarks for backcountry skiers and snowboarders seeking untracked powder and alpine terrain. The surrounding landscape offers excellent opportunities for summer hiking and trail access through subalpine meadows and evergreen forests, with panoramic views of the Continental Divide and neighboring peaks. While the resort infrastructure is no longer operational, the mountain itself remains a compelling destination for experienced backcountry users and history-minded outdoor enthusiasts exploring Colorado's ski heritage.
